The Clans of Night are many and varied - here we see two individuals from the small-bat coalition who have trained as swift moth-hunters.
The smaller pipistrelle species often act as the scouts or 'shepherds', using their firefly lantern to lure moths out of their protective swarms into prime kill-zones for the larger long-eared bats. These hunters have trained to use their acute sense of hearing and supreme echolocation skills to dart into the swarm and swiftly skewer the tastiest moths on their sharp needles.
